Etching
Twice a month on Saturdays from 10am-2pm choose your date at sign up
$115
Etching is a process in which the drawn line is incised using a corrosive into which a metal plate has been submerged. After the process is complete, the etched line holds ink, which is then printed on paper. We use ferric chloride, a corrosive salt, to etch into copper plates.
An introductory class for those who are new to etching. We will cover plate prep and ground application, as well as draw, etch and print our images. Perfect as a mini stand alone workshop, or as a feed in to our Advanced Printmaking Open Studio. All supplies included.

Block Print
Twice a month on Sundays from 10am-2pm choose your date at sign up
$100
Block printing is a technique that uses a carved material such as linoleum or wood to transfer ink onto fabric or paper. The block serves as a stamp, with the final product resulting in a reverse image of the carving.
A beginner/intermediate class for those who have some or no block printing experience. We will design and transfer our images from paper to block, learn carving and tool sharpening techniques, use of the press, and print our images. Perfect as a mini stand alone workshop, or as a feed in to our Advanced Printmaking class. All supplies included.
